Durable Finishing Options
We’ve perfected over 100 finishing processes and techniques to bring you outstanding cabinetry that your family can cherish for generations to come. From custom colours and glazes to creative specialty options including antiquing, we can create the exact look to add lasting warmth and beauty to your home. Consider these options as inspiration starters to jumpstart the endless possibilities!
Solid Standard Colours
Our solid colours are specially formulated using multi-layered finishes to achieve long lasting colours and continuous coverage. A solid colour primer is applied and hand-sanded to a smooth surface. Then a self-leveling solid colour top coat is applied and oven-dried to a smooth, hard finish that will stand the test of time.
Custom Colours and ColourMatch
If none of our standard colours is quite what you want, the Seriös Colour Studio can help you create the exact colour you desire. The possibilities are endless.
If you already have the perfect colour, no problem! With our ColourMatch System, you provide the sample and we’ll match it perfectly.
Aging and Distressing
We have perfected a variety of distressing techniques to give new wood cabinets a lovingly, well-worn look. From rounded hand-worn corners to discrete knife split, dents and sanding, our talented artisans can carefully create the antiqued look you want.
We use four types of glazing techniques to create contrasts and bring out highlights on your cabinet doors: highlighting, brushing, antique, and heirloom. Glaze finishes are thinly applied by hand and carefully worked into corners and recessed areas. Finishes vary for each type of wood. No two finishes are the same ensuring your cabinets are as unique as you.
We can create a gorgeous, old-world look using a carefully applied, multi-step rub through technique. This involves exposing the underlying wood to create a worn appearance. This is often used with our aging and distressing techniques to soften edges and create a weathered or authentic antique appearance.
We apply semi-transparent stains to delicately apply colour and accentuate the natural wood grain and character. Stains are first sprayed or hand wiped onto the wood. Sealer is applied and carefully hand sanded to a smooth surface. Finally, we apply a self-leveling clear top coat to ensure long-lasting protection for your cabinets.
